29 Mar V band SSPA for SATCOM on the move

Wave has started working on a high power amplifier for next generation SATCOM on the move and fixed terminals in V band. The HPA will be developed in the frame of a public funded contract by Regione Lazio under the Strategical Aerospace Funding, POR 2014-2020. The project number is A0320-2019-28150, date 29/07/2019, code CUP E86J20000460005, Code Name: “Innovative Equipment for Satellite Systems (GAMA)”.
The HPA will be developed to sustain high troughput communications in the V band: 47-51GHz, covering the frequencies used for civilian and defence SATCOM applications.
The HPA will use next generation solid state technology to optimize SWaP-C of the overall SATCOM terminal. Optimized to pilot planar phased array antennas suited for SATCOM on the move applications like connected vehicles and aircrafts.
The project will end in Q4 2021 with a full qualified exemplar.
