24 Feb Breakthrough in L Band GaN HPAs for on-board Satellite SSPAs
A new GaN HPA dedicated to on-board Satellite SSPAs working in the L Band stations has been designed
and prototyped. With a CW max output power of 280W and 52% efficiency the new SSPA set a new frontier
in Wave HPA development. An ITAR Free compact GaN Mini-Module: 67mm x 123mm, it has been designed
to work stand-alone or as a building block for kW high efficiency on-board SSPAs. The HPA does not require
liquid cooling. The GaN Mini-Module has been built with space qualified technology or components.
Applications ranges from GNSS navigation satellites to Earth Observation SAR. The same Mini-Module can
be used in SATCOM L Band Ground Stations.
